Barre 191

Our signature Barre class, Barre 191 applies a combination of postures inspired by Ballet, Yoga and Pilates. We use the barre as a prop to balance whilst doing exercises that focus on isometric strength training (holding your body still whilst you contract a specific set of muscles) combined with high repetitions of small range-of-motion movements.

Classes often incorporate light weighted balls, resistance bands and air-balls to bring the burn during all those repetitions. Don’t be surprised if we come down to the mat – Barre Workout uses core exercises, increasing the sensation at the barre.

The main benefits of Barre 191 Workout are: improved posture, muscle definition, weight loss, increased flexibility and reduced stress. We welcome all fitness levels as the class is easily adjusted to increase or decrease the intensity.

A typical 60 minute Barre 191 Workout includes a warm up sequence of upper-body exercises, which include: weighted balls, resistance bands, push-ups, planks and other moves to target the biceps, triceps, chest, and back muscles. Next, we move to the Barre, utilising our own body weight for resistance to focus on the thigh and butt muscles. Our core muscles will be engaged for the entire class and we will finish the those abdominal muscles off with a targeted core session towards the end of the class. Finally, we’ll cool down – moving through a series of stretches to increase flexibility and allow our muscles to recover.

Barre 191 Workout combines strength training and cardio – allowing you to burn fat and build muscle at the same time. Designed not only to give you great physical results, Barre is fun, social and upbeat. It delivers quick results in a fun setting.

If you’re looking to spend more time at the barre, less time on that mat + with more focus on alignment, posture and pulsing. A great class for all levels and especially for those wanting to improve their technique and work on perfecting their moves. With a focus on correction, this class is a great way to go to the next level. The tunes will keep you motivated + those long sets of pulsations will make sure you remember this class the next day.

This Barre Workout is designed to take your practice to another level. The combination of your favourite Barre 191 moves fused with challenging, fitness exercises will massively enhance the results you can achieve in 60 minutes. We’ll be using hand weights, resistance bands, ropes, balls and, of course, the Barre to create a power-hour workout that you won’t forget.

This cardio workout starts with a warm-up that brings the heartbeat up right away! Up next – a series of exercises {each series contains a different focus ranging from lower body, core, back and arms}.
Each series of moves exists out of several high intensity exercises followed by low intensity (but 100% burning!) Barre Workout exercises.
These high intensity exercises allow you to give a 100% of your effort whilst losing yourself in the moment + the Barre Workout exercises ask you to fight through the burn + keep your focus. A great combination that promises great results for body + mind!
We’ll be using dumbbells, resistance bands + weighted balls to bring it next level. So prepare to use some props!

Barre Flow

 

Bringing two of our favourite practices together, Barre Flow is a 60 minute Barre workout combined with active, Vinyasa Flow yoga.

We begin the class with a fun, high tempo power vinyasa flow practice to warm up the body, strengthen the upper body, stimulate detoxification and boost the metabolism.

Our Power Vinyasa will already begin to create length in the body whilst strengthening and toning the muscles ~ especially those arms, chest + back muscles. We then move to the barre where we practice our favourite moves from the original Barre 191 class.

There is no doubt that you will feel the work you’re doing here and our alignment-focused, fun and energising sequence of barre moves will have you sweating + smiling in no time. Finally, we return to the mat as we groove to the final tracks with some core strengtheners.
